Islam has always proved to be a boon for Human kind in every walk of life. Qur’an- The Noble Book of ALLAH Zille Shanahu, holds within itself-
- The solution to all the problems;
- Remedies to all the ailments and diseases; and
- Everything and anything known or unknown, seen and unseen.
Moreover, we have the invaluable Sunnah of Our Beloved Prophet Mu’hammad SallALLAHU Alayhe Wasallam. If practiced could be proved beneficial. It has been already proved through The Sunnah that a man can manage worldly affairs and Deen both together and in an efficient ways. Thereby fetching us the amazing outcomes. At yaALLAH.in today I wish to talk about such wonder foods that have been recognized in Islam for their variety of benefits. These wonder foods have been consumed by the Beloved of ALLAH Ta’ala and which could truly work as wonders for us if we include them in our foods in our day-to-day life.
Gainfulness of the Foods
Dates (Khajoor): It is very important to maintain the required blood count in our body. Decrease in Red blood cells (RBCs) and Hemoglobin could lead to various diseases in human body. Such as low level of oxygen content in our body. Furthermore gives a rise to uneasiness, discomfort and shortness in breathing. We often come across with the people who complain of shortness of breath. These people sometimes even assume that they are suffering from Asthma. But a minor medical diagnosis in the form of blood test often finds out that it’s nothing but low Hemoglobin level resulting in such problems.
Such patients are usually prescribed iron enriched vitamin tablets or health tonics. Secondly, low blood count could also be a problem in females as many-a-times they experience menstrual cycle with heavy bleeding likewise every month.
To tackle similar health issues intake of dates (Khajoor) in our diet every day is recommended. Dates (Khajoor) are a rich source of Iron which helps increase Red blood cells ( RBCs ) in the body. Factually, Iron plays a significant role with RBCs and Hemoglobin. It assist to deliver oxygen to different parts within the body. Carbon monoxide is also exhaled during this process.
This would help to develop comfortable breathing and regularize the menstrual cycles every month in females.
Olive oil (Zaitoon ka Tel): Olive is frequently mentioned in The Noble Qur’an for being so beneficial. Olive oil has high MUFA (MonoUnsaturated Fatty Acids) content. This is one of the plant based fats on this planet earth. MUFA content oils are healthy for heart. MUFA also helps to normalize blood clotting. Olive oil thus proven to be good for heart. Also recommended for dermatology issues like hair fall and various other skin problems. It has been widely used by Our Beloved Prophet and recommended to every one.
Olive is rich in anti-oxidants. It is enriched with Vitamin K and Vitamin E. Olive is good for skin. Using olive oil for cooking results in lesser intake of fats. Thus, it is also beneficial to fight against obesity and for the people finding it hard to strive to maintain their weight under control.
Pomegranates (Anar): It is known to be the favorite fruit of Our Prophet Mu’hammad SallALLAHU Alayhe Wasallam. Besides this, pomegranates are proven to have antioxidant and an anti-ageing which has the capability to fight with cancer. Consuming pomegranates in the diet could is very beneficial and help achieve healthier skin. It also prevents breasts cancers, prostate and colon cancer. A new study has found that a content within the pomegranates can slow down or even stop the growth of breast cancer tumors.
Honey (Shahed): Honey is a humectant and also known as a liquid gold. It has antioxidants. Thus it helps cure dry skin problems. Consumption of honey has also said to be advantageous in Islam. The aforesaid Vitamins have been found in Honey:
- B6
- Thiamin
- Niacin
- Riboflavin
- Pantothenic acid and
- Certain amino acids.
The aforesaid minerals can be found in Honey include
- Calcium
- Copper
- Iron
- Magnesium
- Manganese
- Phosphorus
- Potassium
- Sodium and
- Zinc
It has been found in The Noble Qur’an that ‘Honey is healing for humankind’. In The Holy Qur’an we can read, “And thy Lord taught the bee to build its cells in hills, on trees and in people’s habitations… there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colors, wherein is healing for humankind. Verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.”
Additionally, in Sahih Bukhari we can find that Our Beloved Prophet Mu’hammad Mustafa SallALLAHU Alayhe Wasallam has said, “Honey is a remedy for every illness and the Qur’an is a remedy for all illness of the mind, therefore I recommend to you both remedies, the Quran and honey.”
Honey has been found beneficial for type 2 diabetes. It has been also discovered that honey can maintain the good level of blood sugar. It helps to get a cure from coughing.
